GILI TRAWANGAN TO DO A TRIATHLON- IT’S RACE DAY! OMG we haven’t done a triathlon in years but we really love doing them! We left Lombok early in the day and took the public boat over to Gili Trawangan. The public boat is the cheapest way to get back and forth between the islands and cost 15,000 Rupiahs which is a little over $1. I think I was more nervous than Jimi, I knew the swim was going to be a challenge for me especially since we learned that we had to go out on a boat and jump off to start in the ocean! We also had to rent bikes for the bike portion of the race. If you have ever rented a bike in the Gili’s you know they are typically rusty old bikes so you have to try and pick one that will stay strong and finish the race. In the next video we actually do the race and something pretty funny happened to my bike. It was an amazing experience and the the proceeds went to Gili Eco Trust Foundation. The Gilis need help and this foundation is doing that to help eliminate the plastic from the islands!
